Abacus | Belfast Business Headshots

Sometimes I shoot for clients like artists or writers, or small business owners. But I work with larger business clients as well, who might be looking to convey more of a sense of the people behind the brand.

One such client I’ve worked with over the last couple of years is the Belfast recruitment firm Abacus Careers. In our early shoots, members of the team called up to my studio, which is fairly close to their main office. I used my studio windows as my key light, as I tend to do, with a couple of reflectors to fill shadows …

… On later shoots though, it became less convenient for folks to call up to the studio. So instead I made use of a space at Abacus Careers’ main office.

Having found a well positioned window and a suitable background, a simple reflector set-up was ideal again to get a good exposure across the face, whilst allowing in just enough shadow to emphasise natural contours and shape. Consistency across the shoots was key, and this simple set-up was ideal with that goal in mind …
